Overview
Afro & The Diaspora is seeking digital artwork for inclusion in our Digital Projection Showcase and virtual museum during Art Basel Week at Afro Lounge in Hollywood, Florida.
Digital pieces will be displayed on large-format screens throughout the event and remain accessible in our online collection.
Selected works will also be available for purchase.
Artists receive 100% of the price they set, and Afro & The Diaspora will add a separate fee for nonprofit support and shipping (if physical delivery is required).
There is no fee to submit.
Eligibility
Artists working in any digital medium may apply, including:
- Digital illustration
- Animation / motion graphics
- Photography
- Video art
- Mixed digital media
Work must connect in some way to the African diaspora.
Artists from all countries, including Ghana and West Africa, are welcome.
How to Apply
Please submit:
- Up to 5 digital pieces (JPEG, PNG, MP4, MOV, or similar formats)
- A brief artist statement
- Your social media links or website

Shipping Requirement (For Digital Artists With Physical Editions)
Some buyers may request a physical version of a digital artwork (print, framed edition, canvas, sculpture based on the digital form, etc.).
If your digital artwork has a corresponding physical edition available:
Artists must agree to:
- Produce and ship the physical artwork from their location (including Ghana and West Africa)
- Ship the piece in a timely manner if it sells
- Use safe, protective packaging suitable for international delivery
- Provide tracking information once shipped
Important:
Artists keep 100% of the price they set for the artwork.
Afro & The Diaspora will add an additional fee on top of the artist’s price to cover:
- U.S. receiving/shipping costs
- Customs processing (if needed)
- Nonprofit programming support
If your digital work does not have a physical edition, you may still submit—this requirement only applies if you offer a physical version for sale.
Description of Opportunity
Selected digital artwork will be:
- Displayed through large-scale projection at Afro Lounge
- Featured in the virtual museum online
- Promoted on Afro & The Diaspora platforms
- Offered for sale, with artists keeping the full price they set

Selection Process
Artwork will be reviewed based on:
- Visual quality (clarity, resolution, formatting)
- Relevance to diaspora themes
- Suitability for projection, screen display, and digital environments
Selected artists will receive upload guidelines and technical specs.
